Damplatz, Amsterdam

    About 5&33

With the friendly tagline "let's meet on the corner", this stylish venue, housed in a former municipal building, is an impressively versatile space. The corner in question is that of the Martelaarsgracht and the Prins Hendrikkade, and the venue is home to a multi-functional bar/restaurant/gallery space, a cool place to have a drink or two while admiring the work of local artists.

Visitors can either opt for a glass of their signature house beer or one of their inventive cocktails, many of which feature unusual aromatic ingredients like sage and violets. Those with sweet teeth might want to try the Velvet Symphony, a creamy concoction of Mozart White Chocolate, violet liqueur, vodka and lemon.

They also serve a wide range of spirits, beers, wines and classic cocktails. The kitchen serves a great array of cured meats and cheeses as well as more substantial dishes: soft shell crab, braised ox cheek, goat's cheese ravioli and the like.
