Sunday April 24th brought the Chivas Masters Competition to Victoria 1836 in Paris where an array of creative drinks were presented.
The competition consisted of six world famous bartenders competing in a challenge which tasked them to capture the flavour of a city in three different cocktails: The Classic Way (NY style), The Local Way, and the Shanghai Way.
The competitors included:
• Amanda Boucher from Pas de loup,
• Thomas Girard from L’Hexagone,
• Nicolas Jasjuilliarias from Bain Paris,
• Mathieu Le Feuvrier from Peninsula,
• Alexis Martinez from Mandarin Oriental,
• Aurélie Panhelleux from CopperBay
The cocktails were of an exceptional standard, however Aurélie Panhelleux from CopperBay came home victorious! Here are her marvelous creations:
The Classic Way: True Confessions
Chivas Regal 12 years, Byrrh, Cacao liquor, Beer Belhaven Wee Heavy and Dr. Adam Elmegirab’s Teapot bitters
The Local Way: A bicyclette
Chivas Regal 12 years, Saint-Raphael ambré, Espresso stout from Paname Brewing Company, Home-made honey syrup and Fig vinegar
The Shanghai Way: Panda’s Secret
Chivas Regal 12 years, Jasmine rice water, Plums wine and Citrus fruit
We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling very thirsty all of a sudden… Aurélie Panhelleux will be flying to Shanghai for the Chivas Masters Competition in June so stay tuned!
Soon you’ll be able to find all cocktail recipes in a special category on WBB, so there is more of this to come! YAY!
